Miniature Herefords

Several years ago a family tried their hand at raising miniature cattle and this is the design they choose. All hand painted with faux bevel letters for Lantz.

Flower Partners

Hand painted with iridescent colors on top of regular sign colors.

10 mph

This hand lettered sign came to be because a friend got very frustrated with dust.

Gold Bar Esspresso

This sign is from back in 1994. I was working for a sign company in Olympia and the shop owner wanted to do this in vinyl and run the art through his computer. As I look back today, the owner didn't know how to take a line drawing from me and turn it into a vector. I cut all the vinyl by hand and installed the 4'x8' sign faces back into the cabinet.

Art Bell

In the mid 1990's I read Art Bells book and got inspired to create a bumper sticker for the show. I got approval to sell from the radio program manager but didn't get the funding for a first run of stickers

Tyee Vet Clinic

This is all hand painted with faux beveled letters with an eagle. I always liked this sign a lot!

Gubser

This is a new photo of an old photo of a dump truck I lettered in 1992. I think I took this picture in 2009. Darin and I have been waving hi for years and we caught up at Clearwood Store so I wiped the dust off the door and this is the result after 17 years of daily use.

Yelm Earth

My friends own a large farm and sell worm castings and many organic farm products. I was asked to make up some signs for Rainier High School. The farm and a few other businesses contributed garden boxes etc. Yelm Earth donated Deluxe Garden Blend Soil.
Thanks Kelan!
Thanks Hunt!

Happy Birthday Banner

A friend was getting ready to have a birthday party for her daughter so I asked if I could make a banner for the party and she said yes. Here it is. Happy Birthday Palisades!

u-haul sign

A friend asked me to make this sign. I suggested a white reflective backround.

Awakening Center

This is a 7' diameter sign on plywood. I hand painted some of it such as the clouds and the symbols. A bit of airbrush here and there too. The lettering was done with a paint mask with the help of my trusty computer.

Port Green Farm

A friend asked me to make this for her and her husbands horse ranch. The property has a really great view of Mount Rainier so it had to be included. The finished product is in sign paint.

Airbrush Flame

This panel was achieved by using many layers of water base automotive airbrush paints in 4 colors to get the look I wanted.

Faux Painting

I had some spare time so I asked some friends that owned a local coffee shop if I could do a cool painting just for laughs and giggles and they said sure. They sold the store while I was doing this. The new owners were pleased with my progress so I finished it. It is over 6' tall and the stairs go down to the valley below. I really liked doing this. A couple years later I stopped by to say hi and was stunnned to see it had been painted over! Win some, loose some!  A lady watching me took this photo with an instant polaroid camera. Here are a couple shots during the job and then completed.

Dragonfly

This here is a rough sketch in pencil drawing on an old coffee table.
The top version is finished. I removed the legs from the coffee table and it now hangs on my wall.

Getting an idea going!

I saw something online and I'm in this process of figuring out what I can do with this. It's a 45 minute pencil sketch on paper. Finshed art coming soon!

Post Card Design

I was invited to display some art for a show in a neighboring town and the owner asked if a piece elswhere in this blog could be used on the front of the post card. This is part of a piece that went on display. I created this postcard with the gallery owners instructions. Five hundred cards were mailed out across Western Washington and into Oregon.

Foot Stool Hand Painted

I have been using this stool to sit on while I start my fire to warm the house in the evenings and decided to give it a coat of paint and this is the result. This was achieved using acrylics and when I showed to to my friend who owns an art gallery, she invited me to show it. I hope to get it back sometime after Christmas. But if it sells I can deal with that too!

Chicken cage ID

I worked at a friends organic farm for a season and built a cage for chicks with the owner. He gave me permission to make a funny label for the cage. The customers get a laugh each time they see it.
